Unfortunately the environmental design lacks of any stylized approach which makes the game to look too artificial and cold in some places.
This is the core of every Gran Turismo game and still is. Photo-realistic graphics combined with a high-performance physics engine. If in GT HD Concept you had the chance to drift in an unlimited number of laps, Prologue brings the limitation of one lap per each drift event. This is where you have to perform the most outrageous drifts in order to score points. Every track, with one exception (Daytona), has a drift zone which is divided in score sectors. The drift events are present only in the arcade menu, and are implemented as stand-alone events. At least you get a bonus group race if you complete the other three and a range of 71 vehicles to play on those repetitive six tracks. Just the same classic races which swings from one lap to 5 laps length. The game brings nothing new in terms of gameplay. The game isn't worth the original $59.99 price, but for $39.99 and under it is a good snag for anyone's collection. Despite the fact that you can't wreck, Gran Turismo 5 is a good racing game and is fun. Also, you can't spin people out which gets incredibly annoying when someone turns and hits you and you slow down, instead of the other car spinning out. You can have a head-on collision with another car and not have a scratch. The only big problem in GT5 is that your car cannot be damaged. You could probably beat all the circuits in a week, but the fact that you want to get ALL the cars makes it have a good replay value. One minor flaw is that the game is pretty easy. You can also trade in cars, for less points but still some, which is a useful feature. The game has a points system in which you earn points from circuit races to buy new cars.
You can choose from lots of cars from dealers such as Dodge, Ferrari, Chevrolet, to name a few. Gran Turismo 5 is the one of the most realistic racing games in the history of gaming.
